the future of the galapagos

The Galápagos Islands are a place filled with plants and animals. Many are found nowhere else on Earth.

Yet, invasive species threaten this place. People are one of those threats. More than 30,000 people live on the islands. More than 160,000 visitors come every year. Our footprint leaves a mark. We must be good stewards.

What can we do? We can protect this place and the things that live there. We can limit invasive species. We can encourage people to protect wild places. Can we do these things alone? No. It will take all of us, working together to protect this special place.
